Sewer Backup Coverage is totally separate from a Flood Insurance Policy. This coverage is added to a renters, condo, or home insurance policy.
As the name implies, it covers against damages from the backup of sewers. But did you know that it also protects against damage from a faulty or plugged drain, septic system, sump pump, eaves trough and downspout?
Failure to clear away the rainwater from the roof quickly
Damage to the building and contents by water entering through the basement, walls or roof
Eaves troughs and downspouts are the sources of many claims. Downspouts can also freeze in the winter, resulting in similar damage.
As the rainy season approaches, we would like to make sure that you have this protection from water damage, flooding damage, and other possible gaps. Please contact PLC Insurance for a home insurance policy review.
